These beautiful glass beads have leaves & flowers inside Murano gold glass! The beads are a beautiful rounded disk shape approximately 23 mm in diameter, perfect size for Murano glass pendants. We make the beads with a 6-step process. We start by melting a small amount of crystal glass and wrapping it around a copper wire or mandrel, then rolling it in a thin layer of pure 24k gold foil hammered paper thin. We roll the molten mixture in multicolored bits of broken glass, called 'pestaccio', and then add a delicate zigzag of molten leaf green glass. Finally, we cover the entire bead with pure molten crystal glass, and press it into a rounded disk with cast iron pincers. These exclusive crafts glass beads from Murano were designed for our Monet waterlilies collection, which uses large beads and water jewelry art creations.
